Village gimp suspect has struck 14 times and wore killer clown outfit to scare villagers
A WEIRDO who walked around a village at night in a gimp suit has struck 14 times in outfits including a killer clown.
Cops have quizzed a man in his 20s — believed to be a local farm worker who rarely speaks to anyone.
He was arrested on Monday for indecency after a woman was chased down a lane in Claverham, Somerset, last Thursday.
A second man in his 30s was nicked on Wednesday. Both have been released on bail.
Police have had 14 reports of “a man approaching people while wearing disguises” since November.
Locals said the clown outfit may have been kept after Halloween. All the sightings were in Claverham and neighbouring Yatton, where a man was spotted lurking in shadows and peering through people’s windows.
The gimp was photographed by hairdresser Abi Conroy, 23, last week.
She told how he crept up on her outside a pizza shop.

She said he was “grunting and breathing heavily” but fled through a hedge when passers-by came to her aid.
Fields in the area have been searched, but cops refused to say if the costume had been recovered.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “In some of the incidents the offender is said to have performed indecent acts. Inquiries are ongoing.”
