A RAGING woman who allegedly stormed the cockpit of a Jet2 flight yelling "I'll kill you all" has been slapped with an £85,000 airline bill.

Chloe Haines, 25, had to be restrained by fellow passengers and crew after the reported rant just 45 minutes into the flight from Stansted Airport.

Haines, who was travelling with her wheelchair-bound grandmother, had to be restrained after she apparently sent one attendant “flying across the plane”.

The Costa Coffee worker sparked a hijack alert after allegedly trying to open the emergency exit door mid-flight.

Two RAF Typhoon fighters were scrambled to intercept the Airbus 321 bound for Dalaman, Turkey, on June 22, and guide it back to Stansted, where Haines was arrested.

UK-bound passengers waiting for the return flight in Dalaman had to stay there overnight and return to the airport the next day.

In their rush to escort the diverted plane back to Stansted, the jets created a "sonic boom" which could be heard for miles around.

Dramatic photos show Miss Haines lying down in the aisle before she was arrested on suspicion of assault and endangering an aircraft.

HIJACK ALERT

But now she has been punished by the airline, who have fined her more than £85,000 and banned her for life.

It said the enormous bill was to cover “operating costs, airport charges and passenger welfare costs” — with some put up in hotels.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said last night it will “vigorously pursue” the costs.

He claimed: “Miss Haines’ behaviour was one of the most serious cases of disruptive passenger behaviour that we have experienced.

"She must now face up to the consequences of her actions, and we will vigorously pursue to recover the costs that we incurred as a result of this divert, as we do with all disruptive passengers.

"As a family friendly airline, we take an absolutely zero tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour, and we hope that this sobering incident, with its very serious consequences, provides a stark warning to others who think that they can behave in this fashion.”

DRINK-DRIVE CONVICTION

The Sun Online revealed earlier this month that Miss Haines is a Costa worker with a drink-drive ban and lives at home with her family in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

She was convicted of a drink driving offence just two weeks before the Jet2 incident.

Passengers revealed they were terrified as shocking footage showed staff pinning down the young woman as she started screaming.

Speaking earlier this month, one friend said they didn't know why Miss Haines had started to "kick off", adding: "She's quite worried about it.

"She could go to prison and face a hefty fine."

Describing her as a "girl about town", he said she had previously faced problems with drinking.

On June 4, she was banned from the road for 28 months after drink-driving and ordered to pay £170 court costs.

She was also given a series of community orders for three assaults and fined £450 at Slough Magistrates' Court.

'SHE COULD GO TO PRISON'

Miss Haines, who went to Newlands Girls' School, Maidenhead, currently works at a Costa Express branch in the South-East.

Jet2 vowed to prosecute Miss Haines over the incident in a strongly-worded statement after she was pulled from the plane.

Essex Police confirmed officers arrested a 25-year-old woman on suspicion of common assault, criminal damage and endangering an aircraft. She has been released on bail until August 21.

Witnesses earlier revealed how they were in fear for their lives after their fellow passenger went for the exit door.

Amy Varol, who sat two rows behind, told The Sun Online: "The woman was walking down the aisle when she literally ran to the exit door.

"She had her hands on the handle trying to open it.

"Luckily there were two cabin crew there who pulled her off the door."

Ms Varol continued: "She started assaulting the two crew members, a woman and a man.

"A big guy then literally threw her down to the floor and there was one person holding one arm and another person holding the other.

"Then a man sat on her and one person was holding her leg and someone else holding the other one.

"That's when she started screaming 'get off me, I'm going to kill everyone'."

And a former bouncer revealed how he tackled the woman to the ground during the hijack alert.

Steven Brown, 58, said: "She was punching, kicking and screaming at the stewards, they were trying to stop her but they had no chance.

"She was only petite but she had the strength of a fully-grown man. The only time I've seen anything like that was when someone had just dropped acid, she had super strength.

"It was like she was possessed."

Many people living near Stansted phoned police to report a loud noise they thought could be an explosion when the RAF Typhoons were scrambled to the flight.

A sonic boom is created when supersonic aircraft accelerate through the sound barrier - which is banned over land except in emergencies.

Cops confirmed Miss Haines was not detained under the mental health act.

Jet2 have been approached by the Sun Online for further comment, and Costa declined to comment.
