Labour deputy leader Tom Watson claims party boss Jennie Formby ‘lied’ over the party’s anti-Semitism scandal
DEPUTY Labour leader Tom Watson has suggested that party boss Jennie Formby lied over the anti-Semitism scandal.
In a blistering letter to the general secretary, he accused her of breaching her promise that all documents relating to the row had been kept.
It follows allegations this week by Panorama that Ms Formby tried to interfere with who was on the disputes panel for Jackie Walker’s anti-Semitism case.
She was expelled from the party for misconduct earlier this year. The BBC documentary claimed Ms Formby deleted her email about the panel as there were “too many eyes” on it. Mr Watson told her: “You have previously reassured me that all data relating to anti-Semitism would be preserved.”
Meanwhile Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn faces calls to sack his spin chief Seumas Milne over claims he meddled in the scandal too.

A Labour Friends of Israel spokeswoman told The Sun: “If Mr Corbyn was serious about getting to grips with the crisis, he would sack Seumas and other staff who are complicit.”
