Furious restaurant boss brands customer a ‘t*** with a fetish for over 70s porno’ after one-star cheeseboard TripAdvisor review

A FURIOUS restaurant owner has branded his customer a "t*** with a fetish for over 70s pornography" after receiving a one-star cheeseboard TripAdvisor review.

The customer's review of Oxton Bar and Kitchen addressed the staff being "unfriendly" and slammed its cheese boards as a "juvenile attempt".

The reviewer left a one star review, of the Wirral restaurant, which said: “After 7yrs of patronage to the OBK, I was unfortunate enough to order the cheese board (for heavens sake don’t do it), it arrived via our unfriendly host Anglea where it was discarded on our table with a bang!

"I looked to my horror at the juvenile attempt of a cheese board!

"Anaemic crackers, putrid celery and cheese from an over milked cow!

"I rejected the dish, at which point Angela erupted with anger like she’d produced the cheese herself! I could just hear from the kitchen the Insults (and language).

“With trepidation it was time to pay the bill! I approached the bar with caution…..Angela had removed 'it' from the bill, like she’d done me a favour! Thanks Angela.

“I’d like to complement the rest of the staff and previous 7yers for excellent service. I’ll be back!”

The review prompted the restaurant's owner to hit back on Facebook, titling his response "Why I want TripAdvisor to burn”.

FOUL-MOUTHED REPLY

In a lengthy reply, he asked why the reviewer had never taken the time to positively review in the seven years he has been visiting the restaurant.

The post read: “Why I want TripAdvisor to burn. James here, is a complete t***.

“Not because he has an obvious fetish for over 70’s pornography. Not because he thinks Lauren is called Angela.

“Not because he thinks our cheese is s***. Each to their own.

“No James is a t*** because as he states - ‘After 7 years of loyal patronage’ along with the closing line ‘I’d like to compliment the rest of the staff and previous 7 years of excellent service. I’ll be back!’

“F*** you James. In 7 years of ‘excellent service’, why have you not left one single positive review for us?

“Yet one cheeseboard not to your liking (which we took off the bill?) and you give us a one star review.

“You say you’ll be back! Come back when you’ve given us a positive review for each of the excellent experiences you say you’ve had over the last 7 years, otherwise don’t bother.

“The amount of negative reviews which start with ‘last visit was excellent... however’ blah f***ing blah.

“This s*** keeps me awake at night.

“I employ 23 staff. We all have families to feed. By all means leave us a c*** review if you don’t like us, but don’t ignore the positive experiences, or flit over them in a 1 star review.

“Why don’t they warrant a separate 5 star review?

“Trip advisor is simply an avenue for keyboard warriors to vent their sexually frustrated bad moods on business owners, and an arena for fraudulent positive reviews to negate humanities desire to complain more than they compliment.

“For my own sanity I’ve ignored TripAdvisor for over a year. Maybe I should again”.

Earlier this year, a restaurant was knocked off the top spot on TripAdvisor after a worker posted fake reviews to win £10 Amazon vouchers.

Arbuckles, in Norfolk, lost its certificate of excellence on the website, after the "greedy" worker enjoyed vouchers for five months.

Arbuckles takes part of a scheme which gives workers a £10 bonus if they win praise from diners posting comments on their visit.

But TripAdvisor's investigations team picked up on the scam as the reviews praised the exact same worker and were all traced back to the same computer.
