Breathtaking lakefront mansion where Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack partied has emerged on the market for over £20million
THIS breathtaking lakefront mansion, where Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack partied, has emerged on the market for just over £20million.
The A-lister estate once hosted grand events which saw Hollywood royalty such as Judy Garland, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr among the guests.
The luxurious property in Lake Tahoe, on the border of California and Nevada, was built by entrepreneur William F Harrah in 1963 to host the stars who performed at his nearby casino.
The mansion is widely recognised for the glamour and glitz that made Harrah’s estate one of the hottest tickets in town for the rich and famous.
A secret tunnel led from the casino to the eight bedroom villa where images of the Rat Pack, also known as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr, still adorn the wall, as well as fellow Rat Pack members Joey Bishop and Peter Lowrey.
The main room, which offers stunning views of the lake, could fit around 100 people for cocktails and dancing.
The mansion underwent a total renovation that took nearly three years to complete.
In Villa Harrah's party days, secret tunnels ran the length of the property to help conceal high-profile guests such as Sinatra, Garland and actor Steve Martin.
Compass Tahoe estate agent Jamison Blair, who is co-listing the property with David Bellings of Compass San Francisco, told : “It’s really high-end finishes from the ground up.
“No stone was left unturned. The details are incredible. The bones are the same floor plan, a classic party floor plan with a big great room.”
The 22,288-square-foot mega-mansion's grand driveway can easily host up to 20 cars.
