Creepy Starbucks barrista scrawls “would you rather no hands or no feet?” on customer’s coffee

A STARBUCKS customer was left creeped out after a barista wrote "would you rather no hands or no feet?" on their coffee.

The coffee fan had ordered a cappuccino from a branch in Wilmslow, Cheshire, when the worker posed the bizarre question on the side of the cup.

It was only when the customer got to work and went to take a sip that he noticed the message, which had been scrawled in black marker pen.

He immediately took a picture of the creepy question and sent it to pal Jenna Murphy.

The 27-year-old told The Sun Online: "I couldn't believe it when I saw the picture, who would write something like that on a cup of coffee?

"It has really put me off going into Starbucks again if their staff are going to write creepy messages like this on the drinks.

"My friend said the barista never asked for a name, and as he was looking at his phone as he left the shop he didn't see it straight away. He was walking to work, went to drink the coffee and found this weird message written on the side of the cup."

The lecturer has now accused the chain of discrimination - claiming it is "not a very positive attitude towards disability".

She added: "I would have been embarrassed to be seen with that cup in the street and in my workplace. What if people thought I had written it?

"Starbucks are better sticking to asking what kind of coffee you want rather than making weird comments like this."

A Starbucks spokesperson said: "We have a longstanding tradition of connecting with our customers by writing their names on our cups, and sometimes baristas will add a short or friendly message.

"In this case, our team missed the mark, and this incident is not indicative of the welcoming environment we aim to provide in our stores.

"We’d like to sincerely apologise to this customer, and we’re looking into this with our store team to ensure it doesn’t happen again."

It comes after a schoolgirl scarred for life by a Starbucks tea she was carrying under her arm was handed more than £75,000 compensation.

Demi Mooney, 16, was 12 when she was scalded after the takeaway cup burst open in December 2014.
