Boris Johnson is prepared to ‘be hated’ if elected Prime Minister

BORIS Johnson votes for himself in the Tory leadership postal ballot — saying he is prepared to be “hated” if elected PM.

BoJo said he is “thick skinned” enough to weather the personal attacks that could come his way in No10.

But he insisted he is ready to handle the onslaught so he can deliver his vision for Brexit and rejuvenate the country.

BoJo and his girlfriend Carrie Symonds were driven out of their London home after a nosy neighbour recorded an explosive row they were having.

Asked at an event in London if he is prepared to be “hated”, he said: “”It’s not just prepared. I’m already well accustomed to it.

“Believe me, I’m thick-skinned.” He added: “I can be relied upon despite attacks on my character.”

'HAEMORRHAGE SUPPORT'

Mr Johnson is a well-known crowd pleaser – and was hugely popular when he was last in power as London Mayor.

But he insisted that if he replaces Theresa May he will show he can deliver real policies.

He told The Daily Telegraph event that when he promises something to voters he delivers “X plus 20”.

In a swipe at Tory remain-backing rebels, he warned the party will “haemorrhage support” if they fail to get Brexit done. And he warned that risks handing the keys to No10 to Jeremy Corbyn.

He blasted his Tory rebels who have issued gloomy warnings about the dangers of Brexit.

He said: “I make that point to Dominic Grieve and others who didn’t want to leave the EU. We’ve been very, very negative. We need to be much more robust and confident.”

He repeated his promises to support farmers if there is a No Deal Brexit and put more bobbies on the beat, and vowed to "fix" the controversial pensions cap which has caused doctors to stop doing overtime.

And he warned big tech companies like Facebook, Amazon and Google they will have to pay more tax if he becomes PM.
