Prince Charles’ Duchy of Cornwall carried out a ‘major refurbishment’ of a cottage for £340,000

PRINCE Charles’ estate spent £340,000 refurbishing a cottage on the Isles of Scilly, its accounts reveal.

The Duchy of Cornwall published its financial report yesterday.

Myrtle Cottage was completely overhauled with a new kitchen, bathroom and slate roof.

The Duchy met the cost rather than public funds.

The building had been used as holiday accommodation — but could now “be let to a local St Agnes family from this community where housing is much in demand”, the report said.
