TORY leader hopeful Boris Johnson revealed today he likes to make models of buses and paints in his spare time.
The 55-year-old gave the glimpse into his personal life this morning, as he continued to bat away more questions on the row which saw cops race to his house on Friday morning.
He told talkRADIO's Ross Kempsell: "I like to paint. I make things. I make models.
"I make models of buses. I get old wooden crates and I paint them, and they have to contain two wine bottles.
"And it will have a dividing thing. And I turn it into a bus and I put passengers... you really want to know this?
"I paint the passengers enjoying themselves. On a wonderful bus.
"Low carbon of a kind that we brought to the streets of London that reduces CO2, reduces Nitrous Oxide, reducing pollution.”
Johnson and his girlfriend, Carrie Symonds, are said to relax by spending their evenings painting together - something his political hero Winston Churchill was known for.
He also revealed: "I play tennis quite a lot. I went to watch a cricket match recently. Unfortunately I fell asleep, so that didn’t go very well."
The former Foreign Secretary's unexpected remarks came as he continues on his mission to become the next Prime Minister.
It harked back to his time spent posing in front of the Vote Leave campaign bus during the Brexit referendum campaign, and his work to overhaul London buses while in office as Mayor.
His fondness for buses has also been shown in a sketch of a London double decker, which raised £1,000 in a charity auction this week.
And his enthusiasm for painting on boxes was revealed in 2011 when he explained he liked to relax by decorating cheese containers.
DODGING QUESTIONS
In a series of interviews Johnson has repeatedly dodged being quizzed about the explosive row with his partner Carrie Symonds, which left neighbours concerned.
The Tory leadership frontrunner has faced spiralling demands to explain his midnight clash, but has insisted he won't talk about it.
In an interview with the BBC’s Political Editor Laura Kuenssberg, he explained his vow of silence, saying: “I would love to tell you about all sorts of things Laura, but I’ve made it a rule over many, many years I do not talk about stuff involving my family, my loved ones."
And yesterday the pair were photographed sharing a tender moment at a garden table on Sunday evening at a hideaway house in Sussex.

A neighbour had called 999 after reportedly hearing screaming, shouting and plate-smashing just after midnight on Friday.
Scotland Yard said of the row: “At 00.24hrs, police responded to a call from a resident in the SE5 area of Camberwell.
“The caller was concerned for the welfare of a female neighbour.
“Police attended and spoke to all occupants of the address who were all safe and well.
“There were no offences or concerns apparent to the officers and there was no cause for police action.”
