Boris could sack a third of May’s Remainer Cabinet to build Brexiteer team in No10
BORIS Johnson could sack a third of Theresa May's Cabinet to build a Brexiteer team in No10.
If the big beast gets into Downing Street he'll be sure to surround him with his own allies to help him deliver Brexit.
But allies have said he hasn't yet promised anyone jobs in order to secure their support.
MPs told that as many as one in three could be booted out to replace them with Leave-backing allies.
Chancellor Philip Hammond, Justice Secretary David Gauke, and Local Government Secretary James Brokenshire could face the axe.
Others who could be at risk include prominent Remain-backers including DWP boss Amber Rudd, and Cabinet Office minister David Lidington.
But fellow leadership rivals Jeremy Hunt, Matt Hancock and Sajid Javid are tipped to remain in their posts for now.
Key allies of Mr Johnson including James Cleverly and Kit Malthouse could be promoted, and there are rumours of jobs for Brexiteer backbenchers like Steve Baker too.
Gavin Williamson, who was sacked by Mrs May just weeks ago, is likely to be brought back into the Cabinet, as he's been helping the frontrunner with his campaign.
Liz Truss, currently the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, came out for Boris early on, and is also likely to be given a top job too.
Today the leadership contenders will go head-to-head in another round of voting.
They need the backing of 33 MPs to make it through to the next stage.
And afterwards whoever gets the magic number will face off again in another live TV debate tonight at 8pm.
