MUM-OF-FOUR Jade Stanley proudly combs the honey-blonde hair of the lady sat in front of her and adds a touch of blush to her porcelain cheeks.
But this woman isn't her daughter or one of her mates - it's one of her silicone sex dolls, that Jade is getting ready to sell for £5,000.
The 36-year-old former tanning salon owner has been running her sex doll company with husband Elliott, 38, for the past year after finding a lucrative gap in the market.
Since then she's ordered hundreds of dolls from Asia and sold them on in the UK, with prices ranging from £995 to £5,000 - and she also rents out dolls on a weekly basis too.
Increasing numbers of British men - and women - are secretly seeking companionship with sex dolls and robots, and recently more than one in ten Brits have confessed they would romp with a robot.
By 2020 the sex toy industry will be worth an estimated £38 billion, with sex dolls one of its fastest developing products, costing up to £15,000 a pop.
Speaking to The Sun Online ahead of a new Channel 5 documentary, Me and My Sex Doll: The Sex Business, which airs tonight, Jade says: "It's a very messy business. The dolls don't come back in the best condition.
"Obviously sometimes they come back in a state and it's not the most pleasant."
'It's just like having a vibrator in your house'
Jade and Elliott have been together for 14 years and live with their four children - three boys aged 15, 12 and six, and a two-year-old daughter - in the West Midlands.
She tells Sun Online: "Sex Doll Official first came to life after reading an article in a newspaper about a sex doll brothel and it pricked my imagination, excuse the pun.
"We have covered every angle. Renting, buying, customising..."
While many people may feel strange about using sex doll, Jade thinks that in just a few years it will be seen as totally normal.
"It's going to be so normal - like having a vibrator in your house. It's just a sex toy, or a sex aid," she says.
"They're very hygienic - they have removable vaginas, it's like a cylinder insert. You can wash them or throw them away, it's up to you," she explains. "But some came back messy.
"We soon realised we were better off focusing on generic sales and customised dolls."
Women buy sex dolls too
There's big business in customised dolls, and requests vary.
Jade, who refuses to say how much she's made from her business, explains: "Customers who ask for customisation are varied. Some are a bit creepy. I get some strange requests.
"I had one recently for a Michael Myers doll. That was a bit too weird, for me.
"Our customers' ages range from 18 to 80, and it's more men buying them.
"I was surprised a lot of couples were interested, and we have had a lot of female interest too.
"It's so accessible for women if they want to explore sexually too.
"Some people are bi-curious and want to explore their sexuality, and some couples want the opportunity to have a safe threesome.
"There's a lot of interest in transgender and male dolls too.
"My business is going to change everyone's perception of the sex industry. People who have disabilities, who are socially awkward - they can also enjoy a sexual relationship with a doll. I'm broadening horizons."
'My kids have no reason to be embarrassed'
Despite being supportive, Jade's husband Elliott admits he was concerned initially when his wife told him her idea.
He says: "My initial reaction was 'what do you think the school parents will say?' but as Jade said to me - it's a commercial enterprise, it's money, so I fully supported her."
Jade says: "I'm very honest about it. I tell people I make sex dolls for a living. People are so much more open minded than we give them credit for. They're interested. I like saying it for the shock factor."
Despite the controversial profession, Jade insists her children aren't embarrassed.
She says: "They are aware of what we do. We have been very honest with them from the start.
"It's not like mum and dad are sat at home with sex dolls propped up in the room for our own gratification - it's purely a business. They have no reason to be embarrassed or disturbed at all."
Despite being an advocate for sex dolls, Jade admits she has never experimented with one herself.
She explains: "It's not of any interest to me personally. It's purely business. I have no judgement towards people who use them, it's just not my preference."
Love gloves
Now, Jade is concentrating on a range of customised porn star dolls, and 'Love Gloves' - replica vaginas of famous Instagram and porn stars.
The businesswoman has collaborated with around 40 porn stars to produce exact replica dolls.
3D scans of porn stars and photos of their intimate areas are turned into casts and then made into sex dolls in Chinese factories.
Explaining the move, Jade says: "Porn stars have such a huge following. It's an amazing business model.
"It's a very intimate process. Every inch is replicated."
'I've never been so happy'
In the documentary, we also meet Chris*, who has been collecting for four years and lives with his three elf sex dolls - Sorcha, Camilla and Faresie.
He says: "I've been married three times and I've never really felt comfortable with having people around all the time. I like my own space too much.
"They sit there quietly until I talk to them or we decide to do something together.
"You've got to give them personalities - they don't work if you don't.
"I'm a little bit obsessed. They're nice to cuddle, they're soft... they warm up nicely. It's a comfort thing.
"I don't need a relationship outside of what I've got. I've never been so happy."
However, Chris doesn't have penetrative sex with his doll harem - because they can't give permission, so he pleasures himself or takes 'racy' photos of them.
He adds: "I've made provision for them to be looked after after I've gone. I don't think it's fair to bury them. It would be like burying your sister or girlfriend with you. I couldn't do that to them. It would be like killing them."
Male sex doll brothels
It's not just people who crave intimacy that like to experiment with sex dolls.
In graphic scenes shown in the programme, 26-year-old Anna* is seen trying a male sex doll at a brothel in Finland for the first time, while barman Shaun, from the Midlands is also seen having sex with a doll.
He says: "You look at me, I've got tattoos, I'm in shape and stuff. It's easy to pick up women.
"For me it's like a bucket list thing. Why not try it and see what the fuss is about?
"You can feel the rubberness but with lots of lube it starts to feel more like a vagina.
"Normally with a woman doggy is my favourite but with [her] on the back was easier to manoeuvre with her legs spread.
"I would definitely do it again. If I had the money straight away I would definitely go and get one.
"It doesn't bother me if anybody found out really."
'You can be as rough as you want'
The show also meets divorced property developer Brick Dollbanger - an anonymous collector who posts videos online with his sex dolls.
He believes dolls could lower sexual crimes.
He controversially says: "A woman of my age, 62, is very limited, which is not her fault... however I wouldn't do anything to her to hurt her and I don't have that fear with dolls.
"You can be as rough as you want. They're very durable. It's a very satisfying experience."
*Chris' name has been changed.
