Jassen Todorov's 'The Age of Aviation' shows the runways at San Francisco's International Airport. It won second place in the cities category. He said: 'I had dreams of documenting the motion at SFO and [arranged] permission to fly directly overhead. What a windy day it was. Huaifeng Li won the people category with 'Showtime', capturing actors preparing for an opera performance in Licheng County, China. Li said: 'I’m a freelance photographer, and the series “Cave Life" is a long-term project of mine. Second in the people category was Yoshiki Fujiwara with 'Daily Routine', taken at a public park at Choi Hung House in Hong Kong. The photographer said: '[The area] is [designated] for neighbourhood residents in the early morning, and there was a sacred atmosphere. Jose Antonio won third places in the people category with 'Horses', featuring the Spanish tradition: the feast of Saint Anthony, the ceremony of the purification of animals, called Las Luminarias. Tamara Blazquez won the nature category with 'Tender Eyes', which captures a griffon vulture soaring the skies in Monfragüe National Park. A special mention in the nature category went to Jonas Schaefer for 'King of the Alps', of a herd of ibexes in Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland cross a ridge above Lake Brienz.
