Boris best placed to beat Farage and Corbyn in ‘Brexit election’ poll reveals
BORIS Johnson is best placed to take on Nigel Farage AND Jeremy Corbyn, a poll said last night.
Fresh research showed the ex-foreign secretary is the only leadership candidate with a positive rating among voters, with a third saying he would make them more likely to vote Tory.
Half of Conservatives who have defected from the party after 2017 said he may sway them back.
Both Leave and Remain voters through Boris was the best person to defeat Mr Corbyn, ahead of his rivals Dominic Raab, Jeremy Hunt and Sajid Javid.
Private polling in marginal seats from showed the other leadership candidates struggling to keep us.
Both Mr Farage and Mr Corbyn have said they are getting their parties ready for a fresh election.
Boris is the favourite to replace Theresa May as PM after she officially stepped down as leader this afternoon.
The leadership race now officially kicks off, with nominations closing at 5pm on Monday.
Mr Johnson and others will need to the support of at least 8 MPs to even put their names forward.

There are currently 11 people set to run to replace Mrs May at the moment, but some are expected to drop out if they can't get enough MPs behind them.
