Boris Johnson’s appeal against a court summons over Brexit bus is delayed because the judge is Ed Miliband’s wife

BORIS Johnson’s appeal against a court summons over claims he lied during the EU referendum has been delayed because the judge ordered to preside over it was wife of former labour leader Ed Miliband.

The Tory leadership frontrunner was ordered to appear in court to face accusations of misconduct in public office in a private prosecution case brought by Remain campaigner Marcus Ball.

When the Tory big beast lodged a judicial review application last week the High Court judge on duty was Justine Thornton QC - the former Labour leader and political opponent of Boris.

She had to recuse herself from presiding over the case due to her political connection.

The bizarre coincidence has slightly delayed the appeal.

Boris is claiming the summons was unlawful.
