Donald Trump UK visit: Prince Harry shows Trump’s family around Buckingham Palace despite rumpus over wife Meghan’s ‘nasty’ comments

PRINCE Harry today joined Donald Trump's state visit despite the President's war of words with his wife Meghan.

The Duke of Sussex helped show the Trump family around Buckingham Palace after lunch between the Trumps and the Royals.

He was seen accompanying the President's daughter Ivanka on a tour of the Royal Collection.

But Harry looked subdued during the tour and didn't appear keen to hang around as he soon peeled off from the group and started chatting to a senior courtier instead.

The encounter came on the first day of Mr Trump's three-day state visit to the UK.

Meghan was an outspoken critic of the President before she joined the Royal Family last year.

She once suggested she would move to Canada after Mr Trump took power.

Last week the President hit back in an interview with The Sun which made waves around the world.

Asked about her comments, he replied: "I didn’t know that. What can I say? I didn’t know that she was nasty."

But he also praised her as an American princess and predicted she'll be a huge success.

The Duchess of Sussex isn't taking part in the state visit because she's still at home with newborn baby Archie.

There was previously speculation she wasn't keen to get involved because of her opposition to the President's views.

Mr Trump is today taking part in a series of Royal engagements culminating in a state banquet at Buckingham Palace.

Tomorrow he will hold talks with Theresa May at 10 Downing Street, then on Wednesday the President attends D-day commemoration events at Portsmouth.
