Grindr serial killer Stephen Port says actor Stephen Merchant ‘looks nothing like him’ and blasts BBC drama

GRINDR serial killer Stephen Port is in a rage — because Stephen Merchant is playing him in a film.

Port, 44, has told his family from jail that The Office star “looks nothing like him”.

He also fears the fresh publicity generated by the film, called The Barking Murders, will mean he is targeted by vigilantes in prison.

And he even claims the drama will blacken his name — despite being branded evil and sentenced to a whole life jail term for the murders of four men he met on gay dating apps such as Grindr.

His sister Sharon, who still protests his innocence, told The Sun: “He thinks it makes him look really bad and Stephen Merchant does not look anything like my brother.”

Port killed his victims with chemsex drug GHB at his flat in Barking, East London.

He raped them as they lay dying then dumped their bodies in the street or a graveyard in 2014 and 2015.

Merchant, also 44, has been pictured playing Port — in his first serious role.

The 6ft 7in star appears alongside Sheridan Smith, who plays Sarah Sak, the mother of Port’s first victim.

But Ms Port, 46, raged: “How do they know the truth as they were not there. It’s all going to be lies.

“He’s worried about attacks. There will always be people that will watch that programme and believe it.

“He will probably watch it just to laugh at it because it’s hilarious the way he is being portrayed.”
