Change UK’s Anna Soubry blames leader Heidi Allen for European election flop
BREXIT-bashing party Change UK descended into civil war yesterday after their election flop.
Seething Anna Soubry slammed their leader Heidi Allen for saying voters should tactically back the Lib Dems.
Ms Soubry blasted: “I think it is rather bizarre for an interim leader on the eve of poll to tell people essentially not to vote for their party.”
She added: “You do not stand candidates and then say to people ‘we are going through a complete farce please don’t vote for them."
“Let’s engage now in big grown-up politics.”
The gaffe-prone party was left humiliated after failing to win a single MEP seat, limping in at eighth place.
As the dismal result became clear, the party erupted into bitter in-fighting over their future.
Ms Allen had suggested Change UK should merge with the Lib Dems, which has stormed ahead under its “boll**ks to Brexit" banner.
But Ms Soubry, who quit the Tories over Brexit, lashed her leader for even suggesting it.

She said: “These things may well emerge but for goodness sake, this is a long way down the line.
“You have got to have your own policies first of all before you can even go into any form of negotiations with any other party to do pacts.”
Since it launched in February, the party has been dogged by in-fighting, been hit with a lawsuit threat and been forced to change its name.
