Brits went to vote on Thursday in the European elections - but the results aren't in yet as the rest of Europe hasn't finished voting yet.

Sealed ballot boxes are waiting in counting stations across Britain, which will finally be opened within hours.

Watchful volunteers are keeping an eye on the vote boxes, which are locked away, to make sure they aren't tampered with.

The vote is said to have cost around £150million to hold.

Nigel Farage's Brexit Party is set to storm to a historic victory as Brits punish the Tories and Labour for failing to deliver Brexit on time.

Despite voting to leave more than three years ago, Britain was forced to take part in the polls and elect a whole new raft of MEPs in 12 regions.

Brits will pick 73 MEPs to seat in the 750-strong European Parliament.

European Council President Donald Tusk has said that MEPs could sit for “months or even longer” if the negotiations drag on.

If we leave in the next few months, they might not even take up their seats.

Tories secretly fear they could be completely wiped out, as some polls had them on just six per cent.

Mr Farage's Brexit Party have stormed the polls, scooping up around a third of the vote.
