Google apprentice, 21 and pal are killed when their Mini Cooper spun off country road and ploughed into a river

The incident took place at around 3.40am last night in Lydd

A GOOGLE apprentice and her friend have were killed after their Mini Cooper crashed and plunged into a river in Kent.

Beth Eves and Harry Skilton, both 21, came off the road in Lydd, Kent, in an smash that left another man injured.

The crash happened near Dengemarsh Road at around 3.40am today.

Three people were freed from the vehicle by emergency services but design apprentice Beth, and Harry, later died of their injuries.

The third occupant had injuries which are not described as serious.

It is understood he has since been discharged from hospital.

ANOTHER MAN INJURED

Their friends have paid tribute on social media.

Cameron Ryan wrote on Facebook: "Harry and Beth. I can’t describe how empty I feel knowing that when I next come to Maidstone you’re not going be there.

"Harry, you’re a brother, a friend and an excellent human being and you improved the life of everyone you met by being so generous and friendly.

"I hope everyone who sees this takes extra care behind the wheel going forward, because life is precious and can be taken away in the blink of an eye."

Stylist Mae Westall added: "RIP Beth Eves no one will ever forget you, you were a beautiful person inside and out. Forever loved."

A police spokesman said: "Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and are urging anyone who saw the Mini in the moments leading up to the incident, or who have dash cam footage from the area around the time, to contact them."

The news comes after a man in his 40s on the Londonbound carriageway of the A2 near Darenth in Kent.

The man collided with a roadside barrier at approximately 8:45pm on Thursday.

He was pronounced dead by paramedics on the scene.
