The iconic Ferrari red paintwork was ruined by the fire and huge plumes of smoke can be seen coming from the vehicle.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said the Testarossa was written off following the incident on May 10.

It is not clear what caused the expensive supercar to burst into flames.

After firefighters were called at 4.11pm, it took over an hour for the blaze to be tamed.

The legendary model has a V12 engine, a top speed of 180mph and accelerates from 0-60mph in just 5.2 seconds.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "One rather precious vehicle was unfortunately involved in a fire.

“The driver escaped unhurt."

Just 10,000 Testarossas were built by Italian car-maker Ferrari between 1984 and 1991.
