ROYAL fans have flocked to Windsor Castle to toast the birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's baby boy.

Jubilant well-wishers sprayed champagne as they eagerly wait to catch their first glimpse of Baby Sussex.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their 7lbs 3oz son at 5.26am this morning.

Speaking from Windsor, the Duke of Sussex said: "I'm very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy."

A beaming Harry said: "It's been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.

"How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we're both absolutely thrilled.

"We're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it's been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody."

The royal couple announced they were having a baby on October 15, 2018 - five months after they wed and following weeks of speculation.

In keeping with tradition, the name of the newest member of the Royal Family will be announced in the coming days after the Queen has been told.

In Windsor, fans lined streets decked in union jack flags and banners as they celebrated the new royal addition.

People have been photographed popping champagne corks to toast the happy news.

Fans also took to social media to send warm wishes to Meghan and Harry.

Prime Minister Theresa May congratulated the royal couple on Twitter, posting: "Congratulations to the Duke and duchess of Sussex on the arrival of their baby boy. Wishing you all the best at this happy time."

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn also tweeted: "Congratulations to Meghan and Harry on the birth of their baby. I hope they are doing well."
