The ex-Foreign Secretary called on his party to capitalise on Labour's weaknesses
TORIES can easily knock Jeremy Corbyn out of the park if they focus on delivering homes, cutting taxes and slashing red tape, Boris Johnson has vowed.
As he laid out his plan to beat the Labour boss in a future election, the ex-Foreign Secretary said his party must capitalise on the Opposition's weaknesses.
He called on the Government to sort out Brexit as it should have been done months ago, so they could get on with fighting Mr Corbyn's Marxist ideologies.
Writing in his column today he said: "We need to get Brexit done properly – as it should have been done months if not years ago – and then to knock Corbyn out of the park.
"Look at the big challenges our country faces – and then ask yourself who owns the solutions of the future: is it One Nation Toryism, or Corbynesque semi-Marxism?"
To do that, Boris said thousands more homes needed to be built for young people, and slashing stamp duty would make them more affordable.
Ripping up red tape and allowing developers to build on more brownfield land, and devolving more taxes to local authorities would help too, he insisted.
Offering Brits the choice of part-ownership would give them real choices of how to get on the housing ladder.
But it was only by working together with the markets and businesses to come up with bright ideas, would they be able to deliver on this properly, Boris said.
" You need the market, Jeremy, my old Marxist chum, and you need the profit motive," he wrote.
"One Nation Toryism is about balance, and understanding the symmetry between great public services and a powerful market economy.
"For One Nation Tories a great open goal mouth glimmers ahead. We have missed it before. We cannot afford to miss it next time."
Boris laid out his own vision for life after Brexit and how he would win the Tories a majority back again.
Pitching himself as a 'One Nation Tory' in the middle of the road like Tony Blair, he hinted there was a third way which wouldn't pander to leftie ideology.
Mrs May has said she will step down as PM after the first stage of Brexit is done, but she hasn't named a date.
The news has sparked an unofficial Tory leadership race as candidates scramble to get into position.
Boris is set to face off against ex-Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab to be the Leave-backing candidate.
MPs will whittle the choices down and two will face off against the members to be the next leader and Prime Minister.
