A DRIVER who killed three women in a horror smash and then tried to eat his dashcam memory card has today been jailed for five and a half years.
Kieran Dorsey, 24, ploughed his van head-on into a Fiat Punto in Basildon, Essex on July 3, 2017, killing all the passengers inside.
Paul Raudnitz, Mitigating for Dorsey, said: "He fully accepts he removed the dashcam and bit through the SD card.
"He removed that item to ensure if it showed something, it would be destroyed."
Dorsey previously admitted at Basildon Crown Court killing three people by dangerous driving.
He also pleaded guilty to one count of perverting the course of justice.
Today Honour Judge Graham sentenced Dorsey to four and a half years for all three counts of causing death by dangerous driving and handed him a consecutive 12 months in prison for one count of perverting the course of justice.
Judge Graham said in court: "This case is a tragedy for everybody."
