The rapper pulled out of Snowbombing Festival after accusing organisers of racial profiling
SKY News presenters were left reeling as Stormzy's F-word Instagram message was this morning accidentally played on live TV.
They were discussing the grime star's decision to pull out of Snowbombing Festival after accusing organisers of racial profiling.
Stormzy's message, edited for expletives, was shown on the channel as a presenter described why the musician had decided not perform on Wednesday night.
But the unintentional move to an unedited version completely with multiple f-words left the presenter momentarily speechless.
On the screen could be seen: "... all the f*****g time and I'm sick of it so f*** the festival and f*** my performance" - before the graphic was hastily corrected.
"Oooohh... oh oh...," a male voice was heard saying off-screen, later saying: "Apologies for that graphic.... a little too graphic for us this morning."
Stormzy's reaction came after security searched "a small number of attendees" - including his manager Tobe Onwuka - after allegations someone was carrying a weapon.
The 25-year-old wrote on Instagram: "My manager and all my friends who were at the festival were racially profiled, targeted and aggressively handles because they had 'reason to believe someone was carrying a weapon'.
"The security targeted them (despite no one fitting the description), were physically aggressive when handling them an there's been no effort from the festival to actually deal and address the problem."
He gave his "sincerest" apologies to fans but said these were the "drastic steps" needed to "take to make a point against racism and racial profiling".
A statement from the festival said: “Snowbombing's security were alerted to the possibility that an individual at the festival was allegedly carrying a weapon.
“In accordance with protocol, a small number of attendees, including Stormzy’s manager were escorted to the nearest exit, searched and no weapon was found.
“Stormzy's management were unhappy with the manner by which this took place and as a result Stormzy will no longer be performing tonight.
“Snowbombing would like to wholeheartedly apologise to Stormzy’s team. We are doing everything we can to understand the full situation and are treating this with the utmost seriousness to ensure this does not happen again.”
