Shocking moment evil dad throws daughter, 6, down steps before trying to tell witness she ‘fell on her own’
It turned out that the dad hurled her down the steps of a shop in Ukraine after she began quarrelling with her brother
THIS is the shocking moment a dad throws his little daughter down concrete steps — to punish her because she wanted to push their shopping trolley.
The father, 46, is pending trial after he was caught on camera carrying out the cruel punishment on the six-year-old.
The CCTV clip film in the town of Varash in northern Ukraine’s Rivne Oblast region shows a man dressed in a black winter hat leading a girl dressed in a pink winter jacket out of the supermarket.
Suddenly the man violently pushes the girl down from the high porch steps.
The terrified child lands on the tarmac and looks shocked and helpless.
Several seconds after she can be seen getting to her feet as the brute of a dad goes back into the shop.
A passerby can be seen watching the scene silently and apparently decides not to intervene.
The video outraged the supermarket staff who then posted it online to draw the public attention to the incident.
DAD RECOGNISED ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Police spokeswoman Zoriana Melnyk said: “Thanks to the local residents the man was quickly identified.
“The police visited the man’s family and his wife recognised him and their daughter in the video.”
But during a police interrogation, the dad-of-four, denied pushing his daughter saying “she fell on her own”.
According to him, his daughter and her younger three-year-old brother had been quarrelling over who would push a shopping trolley.
The dad tried to calm his children down but failed and flew into a rage before grabbing his daughter and dragging her out of the supermarket.
He said: “I just wanted to take her aside but when we were on the porch she pulled her arm out and fell.”
He was charged with parental neglect and now is pending trial.
Local social services are going to monitor the family and work with the parents.
SOCIAL SERVICES NOW INVOLVED
Alla Ilyina, the head of Child Protective Service, said: “The girl will be registered as a child who experienced abuse from her parent and her living conditions are going to be monitored by social service workers.
“We will also work with the parents to correct their attitude to their duties.”
The father’s mother says “he is a good father”, but “had a little nervous break down”.
She said: “His [dad’s] wife was in hospital for a week and he had to deal with four little children on his own.
“I do not say that he was right but I think he did it because of tiredness and exhaustion.
“He is a good father but everybody can have a little nervous breakdown.”
A neighbour said: “I have often seen him playing with his children. I could not believe he had done such a thing until I saw the video.”
Oleksy Dvoretsky, a local resident, said: “Nobody here could believe that a father is capable to do something like that to his own child.
“Everybody is shocked.”
The little girl miraculously escaped serious injuries and got away only with a few bruises, reports say.
Her father faces up to one year of penal labour if found guilty.
