Bookies have slashed the odds on Britain's hottest ever spring
SUMMER is on its way and the UK is in for a scorcher this week as temperatures hit a warm 18C.
Forecasters have predicted that the whole of Britain will see warmer weather next week as April approaches.
The area will bask in 17C sunshine on Thursday and 18C on Friday.
Forecaster Chris Fawkes said: "Towards the end of the week in London we should see temperatures climbing to around 18C but that warming trend will be widespread across England and Wales in particular."

It will be a chilly start to the week in Scotland and the north east, with temperatures as low as 1C on Monday morning and rain later in the day.
North Ireland could also face some blustery showers on Monday.
But temperatures could hit 14C, with a dry week predicted.
Coral cut the odds on a record-hot spring from 4/1 to 5/4.
The firm's Harry Aitkenhead said: “Punters believe a sizzling spring is ahead.”
The Weather Outlook's Brian Gaze said: “With computer models strongly favouring a warm spring, there is potential for the record for the hottest spring to be challenged.
“26C highs are likely in April. Plumes of warm air from Africa are expected.
“And there is an increased chance of a hot and settled summer due to the trend for more high pressure, which brings hot conditions in summer.”
A Met Office spokesperson added: "For March-May, above-average temperatures are more likely than below-average.
"The probability UK average temperatures will fall into the warmest of our five categories is 50 per cent. The coldest category is 10 per cent.
The forecast comes as day-trippers hit beaches across the country to bask in the sunshine on Sunday.
