The six people in the bus, including the driver, were taken to hospital but none had life-threatening injuries.

They have since been released.

THREE TEENS DEAD

The horror crash though killed the driver of the car, 18-year-old Christopher Baker and two others who were in the car, Mya’nie Baker, 15, and Kyren Wright, 18.

RTA said in a statement: “We train with local EMTs and firefighters so they know how to help in an accident just like this one.

“We did a training with Dayton fire department on this exact model hybrid bus just a few months ago.

“We donate our older buses to Crash Course Heavy in Fairborn so firefighters around the country can learn how to extricate and rescue those trapped in a bus should the worst happen.”

The crash is still being investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Trotwood Police chief Eric Wilson said an officer tried to stop the car for an expired registration and tinted windows but the driver took off.

He said: “The plates were expired and they actually didn't belong on that vehicle, they belonged to another vehicle.”

The police chief emphasised that the vehicle was not being pursued by the police.

Wilson said: “We have a very defined pursuit policy and it's for violent crimes only.

“A traffic offence does not fall in our chase policy."

An off-duty detective happened to be driving near to the accident and stopped to help.

Wilson added: “They were able to pull out the driver and the back seat passenger.

"Unfortunately, they weren't able to pull out the female victim and the car caught on fire and burst into flames and became engulfed."
