MAKING a Murderer's Steven Avery told his ex-girlfriend "I should get a gun and kill you" before murdering Teresa Halbach, police reports claim.

Jodi Stachowski's claims are revealed by Michael Griesbach in his book Indefensible: The Missing Truth About Steven Avery, Teresa Halbach And Making a Murderer.

Revealing other shocking details of Avery's alleged crimes, Greisbach tells how Avery moved in with his then-girlfriend Jodi Stachowski shortly after his release in 2003.

But she was soon forced to call the police on him a few months after moving in together for a string of violent crimes against her.

Avery, 56, a controlling and manipulative boyfriend, found out Jodi was up North at the races, and forgot to mention to him that she was attending, consequently sparking fury from him.

DOMESTIC ABUSE

After coming home at around 11pm, Jodi instantly experienced Avery at his worst.

An furious row kicked off between the two, with Jodi telling him to "pack up your s*** and move out".

This prompted Avery to push her, causing her to fall into a chair and hit her head, the book reveals.

Griesbach writes: "He (Avery) got on top of her (Jodi) and hit her. He ripped the phone out of the wall when she tried calling 911.

"Before she reached the dispatcher, he strangled her and she lost consciousness."

Avery then told Jodi: "I should get the gun and kill you."

Jodi also claims she desperately attempted to get away from Avery when they lived together.

She said: "He's not innocent. I ate two boxes of rat poison just so I could go to the hospital and get away from him."

'EXTREME BONDAGE SEX'

The book also said Avery was obsessed with extreme bondage sex and once throttled his lover unconscious in the months before the murder at the heart of the hit Netflix series.

She told investigators that Avery kept pornographic magazines and films all over the house, and the two would engage sexually every day.

He often boasted how he wanted to rape and murder young women in a 'torture chamber', according to police reports citing his fellow inmates, known as "jailhouse snitches", the book revealed.

In the book, Griesbach writes: "Driven perhaps by the same kind of madness that led to his drawing of a torture chamber and comments he made to other inmates, he bought handcuffs and leg irons the day before her (Teresa) visit, just a short time before she was murdered."

Prosecutors wanted to use these allegations in at his trial, but the judge deemed such information was inadmissible and unrelated to the killing of Miss Halbach.

Griesbach reports how Avery previously experimented with bondage during his sexual relationships.

Avery was jailed for 18 years after he was wrongly convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in 1985 in a case that sent shockwaves across America.

Griesbach, a Wisconsin prosecutor, helped exonerate Avery in 2003, but wrote his book detailing why he believes the 56-year-old is definitely guilty of killing Miss Halbach.
