A BLOODIED Brit was found wandering the streets in a Spanish city with his penis in a plastic bag after chopping it off at home, reports claim.
The 33-year-old Londoner shocked onlookers who raised the alarm when they saw him bleeding heavily in a central street in the north-eastern city of Zaragoza last Friday.
He told cops he had chopped off his own manhood and investigators said he may have been under the influence of drugs or could have mental health problems.
Cops found the expat had registered on a social networking app in search of a candidate to film him mutilating himself, the paper reported.
A local man who had seen social media reports of the man's search immediately linked those with reports about the person being found with an amputated penis and then posted on Twitter about it.
A passer-by who witnessed the man bleeding saw these messages and asked if he could send him the profile picture of the man who was looking for someone to film him amputating his penis.
MACABRE FANTASY
According to El Heraldo de Aragon, once he saw the photo, the witness realised it was the person he had seen bleeding.
The information has been passed on to police and they are investigating whether anyone responded to the macabre invitation, the paper reported.
It said that although officers currently believed the injured man was alone, they were not ruling out the possibility he was filmed by another person.
Local reports have said the operation to reattach the man’s penis has been successful but it is not yet known if it is back to full working order.
According to local media reports, the man carried out the self-amputation in his flat before going out onto the street.
Neighbours reported hearing screams and seeing blood in the lift.
One told he was going out to dinner with his family when "we saw so much blood" in the lift.
"I do not know how he was saved with the great pool of blood that he left behind," he said.
After he left the block, there was a 200 yard trail of blood where he was found by police,

The identity of the mystery Brit has not been made public.
A police source in Zaragoza confirmed the man's age and nationality.
"There are mental health issues here," said the source.
"The investigation is ongoing but we believe he acted alone and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
