A MAN whose pregnant wife vanished 20 years ago was yesterday charged with her murder.
Andrew Griggs is accused of killing Debbie Griggs in 1999.
The mum of three, 34, was four-and-a-half months pregnant pregnant when she went missing from home in Walmer, Kent.
Her body has never been found.
Griggs, 56, was arrested at his home in St Leonards, Dorset, yesterday by officers from Kent Police.
He was later remanded in custody after appearing before JPs in Medway.
Det Supt Paul Fotheringham said: "Debbie Griggs was 34 years old when she went missing from her home in Walmer, Deal, late on the evening of Wednesday 5 May 1999.
"Despite extensive searches and appeals for information detectives were unable to locate Debbie, who was a devoted mother of three young children and expecting her fourth child."
There are active Facebook pages devoted to Debbie.
On one page, Debbie Elizabeth Griggs is Missing, it was announced that her mum had died earlier this year.
On January 12, they wrote: "We have very sad news to bring you tonight.
