Who is LaToya Jackson and what has Michael Jackson’s sister said?
La Toya has previously alleged her brother was a paedophile after comments from 1993 were unearthed
MICHAEL Jackson’s sister has previously alleged that the King of Pop was a paedophile.
La Toya has also previously encouraged people to listen to the alleged victims – but who is she? Here’s what we know.
Who is La Toya Jackson?
La Toya Jackson was born on May 29, 1956 and is the fifth of ten children of the Jackson family.
She gained notoriety on the family’s television series called The Jacksons, which aired on CBS between 1976 and 1977.
La Toya became a successful solo recording artist in 1980s and 1990s and produced hits such as If You Feel The Funk and Sexbox.
Her career declined in 1990s after she was allegedly forced to marry her entertainment manager Jack Gordon.
The Jackson family claimed Gordon brainwashed La Toya turning her against them.
In 1989, La Toya posed topless for Playboy and in 1994 she became one of the first celebrities to have a Playboy video released.
What does La Toya do now?
La Toya divorced Gordon in 1997 and returned to the music industry in 2004 with the singles Just Wanna Dance and Free the World.
In 2011, she appeared on the fourth series of The Celebrity Apprentice.
From 2013 to 2014, she appeared in her own reality TV series on the Oprah Winfrey Network called Life with La Toya.
What was her relationship with Michael Jackson like?
La Toya and Jackson were reportedly close siblings.
They lived together in New York while Jackson starred as the scarecrow in The Wiz on Broadway in 1978.
They both lived at Hayvenhurst House until they were 30 and 31.
What has La Toya said about her brother?
In 1993, she alleged Jackson was a paedophile at a time she was estranged from her family.
She said: “I must tell you that this is very difficult for me.
"Michael is my brother, I love him a great deal but I cannot, and will not, be a silent collaborator of his crimes against small, innocent children.
"If I remain silent then it means I fuel the guilt and humiliation these children are feeling and I think it's very wrong."
The comments came after 13-year-old Jordan Chandler accused Jackson of molesting him.
She said she was the victim of sexual abuse herself and believed the alleged victims would be emotionally "scarred" by what they went through.
LaToya continued: "I am a victim myself and I know what it feels like.
"These kids are going to be scarred for the rest of their lives and I don't want to see any more innocent, small children being affected this way.
"I love Michael very dearly but I feel even more sorry for these children because they don't have a life anymore, they don't."
She also questioned why Jackson shared a bedroom with small boys, which he admitted to himself.
LaToya said: "Now you stop and think for one second and you tell me, what 35-year-old man is going to take a little boy and stay with him for 30 days?
"And take another boy and stay with him for five days in a room and never leave the room?
"How many of you out there are 35 years old? How many would take little kids and do that? That are nine, 10, 11 years old?

"I love my brother but it's wrong. I don't want to see these kids hurt."
La Toya was not speaking to her family when she made the comments, with the Jacksons accusing her of making money from lying about her brother.
She later claimed that she made the 1993 allegations because her then husband Gordon forced her to and she took back everything she'd said.
