Who was Jodie Chesney, how old was she and when was the Girl Scout stabbed?
JODIE Chesney was brutally knifed and murdered by thugs in a thoughtless attack at a playground in East London earlier this year.
Here's the tragic story of Jodie's death, who's to blame and when it happened.
What happened to Jodie Chesney?
Girl Scout Jodie, 17, was knifed in the back in a playground in St Neot’s Road in Harold Hill, East London.
She was approached by a gang of balaclava-clad youths as she hung out with her partner and a male pal on the night of Friday, March 1, 2019.
The A-level student is said to have been stabbed so hard that the weapon snapped — leaving the blade lodged in her body.
The attack happened at around 9.20pm at Harold Hill park in Romford, Essex.
The unprovoked attack is one of the most horrific London stabbings seen so far in 2019.
Witnesses described hearing “blood-curdling” screams for help from her boyfriend, Eddie Coyle.
Teresa Farenden, 49, who lives opposite the scene, heard the shouts and ran to help.
Breaking down in tears, the mum-of-three said: “It was like being in a horror movie.
“When I got there she was breathing but it was very shallow, she was groaning and there was a slight pulse.
“There was so much blood. I told the ambulance lady, ‘She needs a blood transfusion, make sure they bring blood’.
“We tried to compress the wound to stop the bleeding but there was just so much.
“The boyfriend was holding her and kissing her face. He was whispering and begging her, ‘Please, please stay awake’."
Jodie died at the scene.
Who was found guilty for her murder?
Jodie's family shouted "yes!" in court as two 'pathetic' teenage gangsters were found guilty of stabbing the 17-year-old to death over a petty local turf war.
Svenson Ong-a-Kwie, 19, and a 17-year-old boy named as Aaron Isaacs were found guilty of her murder at the Old Bailey.
Their co-defendants Manual Petrovic, 20, and a 16-year-old boy were cleared of murder after the jury deliberated for six hours.
Members of Jodie's family, including father Peter and sister Lucy, erupted with cheers of "yes!" and clenched their fists as the guilty verdicts were delivered.
Peter, 39, clenched his fists as tears swelled in his eyes as he and Jodie's relatives chorused: 'Justice for Jodie' outside court.
Speaking outside the Old Bailey, supported by his family, Peter said: "The two people that were in the park are to be sentenced for murder which I am over the moon about.
"We got them. Justice for Jodie! For Jodie!"
Earlier, there were tears from Jodie's sister as the not-guilty verdicts were delivered for murder charges against Manual Petrovic and the 16-year-old boy.
Jurors heard during the trial it wasn't clear who had inflicted the fatal wound, which came within a few millimetres of fully penetrating her whole body.
Jodie's step-mum came facet-to-face with Jodie's murderers at the Old Bailey.
And taking to Facebook, Jodie's distraught sister said her family are "the only ones serving a life sentence."
She added:"No words will ever be able to explain the pain of missing you.
"Until we meet again Jode. Until then I'll try my hardest to make you proud."
