FORMER Glamour model Katie Price appeared before Bexley Magistrates Court on February 25th after being found slumped in the back of her £75,000 pink Range Rover, which she crashed in 2018.

Price, 40, wore a blazer and shades as she headed to court but had she been drinking and what was the verdict in her drink-driving case?

Why was Katie Price in court?

The former model was charged with being almost twice the legal limit while behind the wheel of a vehicle in 2018.

Just before her trial was due to begin Price was also told she’d face the more serious charge of drink-driving too.

What happened?

Katie Price was arrested in in the stationary car on October 10, 2018 in Shooter's Hill, Greenwich, south-east London.

Price has denied the lesser offence and is yet to enter a plea over the second count.

The court was told that CCTV footage would show her Range Rover earlier damaging a Volkswagen Golf while attempting a three-point turn.

Price, 40, pleaded not guilty in January to being in charge of a vehicle while drunk on October 10 last year in Shooters Hill, Woolwich.

The court heard she was "behind the wheel in charge of the vehicle" whilst nearly twice over the limit, but denies an intention to drive it or being the driver when it crashed into another vehicle.

But as she appeared at Bexley Magistrates' Court for her trial this morning, a prosecutor said the Crown Prosecution Service had now decided to charge Price with a more serious charge of driving while exceeding the drink-drive limit.

Prosecutor Sonya Saul said: "The CCTV shows a pink Range Rover in Pavillion Gardens executing a three point turn.

"It goes up on the verge and hits a VW Golf.

"It's six minutes just showing that incident there.

"The manner of the driving may be of relevance to you.";

She added that an email was sent to Price's defence and the court informing them of the new charge of drink driving on February 15.

Paul Macauley, defending, said: "An email came from the CPS a few days ago - drink driving has been put forward as opposed to while in charge of a vehicle."

It has been claimed Price recorded 69 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath after she was arrested last year. The legal limit is 35mg per 100ml.

She was found guilty and given a driving ban and a fine.
