Begum family lawyer Tasnime Akunjee said her parents are terrified the tot will be indoctrinated by "highly damaged" Shamima.
He told the Sunday People: "Her mum doesn’t even recognise her. She doesn’t want the child indoctrinated.
"Shamima is highly damaged and the family don’t want the newborn brought up by her in that state of mind.
"They’re eager to take the baby and bring him up as her situation is sorted.

"They want her threat level assessed and managed in a safe environment.”
It comes just hours after Shamima's dad said he AGREES with Home Secretary Sajid Javid's decision to strip his daughter of her British Citizenship.
Ahmed Ali, 60, said he is "on the side of the Government" after his Jihadi bride daughter showed "no remorse" for fleeing the UK in 2015 and marrying Dutch ISIS fighter Yago Riedijk.
Mr Ali told The Mail on Sunday: "I know they (the British Government) don’t want to take her back, and in this I don’t have a problem.
"I know she is stuck there but that’s because she has done actions that made her get stuck like this.

"I can’t say whether it is right or wrong, but if the law of the land says that it is correct to cancel her citizenship, then I agree."
The teenager is living with Jarrah in a corner of the camp designated for foreigners.
Begum’s home borough of Tower Hamlets in London may end up taking responsibility for caring for the newborn.

COUNCILS WILL COUGH UP FOR JIHADIS
It states: “There is centrally funded support available for local authorities to help all British children or families who return.
“Children may be traumatised and need to be offered targeted and proportionate support to aid their reintegration into schools and local communities."
On Friday suspected ISIS fighter Jack Letts announced he wants to come home to the UK after being held for two years in a Kurdish prison.
The Oxford-born fanatic - dubbed 'Jihadi Jack' - said he misses his mum and home comforts like pasties and watching Doctor Who.

Letts, who ran away to war-torn Syria in 2014 when he was just 18, told ITV: "I miss my mum.
"I know that sounds a bit toddler-ish.
"What else do I miss? I miss pasties. It's not really English - sort of Scottish isn’t it? I miss pasties. And Doctor Who. Sounds a bit stupid… that’s all."
