GANGSTER 'REVENGE'

Hitman who murdered gang boss who ‘helped’ Steven Gerrard stabbed after £150,000 bounty was put on his head

Mark Fellows, also known as The Iceman, was allegedly targeted in revenge for killing Paul Massey and John Kinsella in 2015

A HITMAN who murdered a Mr Big gangland figure who once "helped" Steven Gerrard has been stabbed in prison - just weeks after a £150,000 bounty was put on his head.

Mark Fellows, 38, had a price tag put on his head in revenge for the ruthless murders of crime bosses Paul Massey and John Kinsella.

The 38-year-old was given a whole life sentence last month after he was convicted of assassinating Massey, 55, outside his home in Salford, Gtr Manchester, in 2015 and Kinsella, 53, as he walked his dogs close to his home in Merseyside three years later.

Kinsella allegedly once helped Rangers boss Steven Gerrard after he "got into trouble".

Fellows - nicknamed “The Iceman” by his criminal associates - was slashed with a weapon made from a razor blade at Whitemoor Category A maximum security prison in Cambridgeshire.

A source said: "He was apparently badly cut all over his body and had to be airlifted out of the prison to hospital."

The Ministry of Justice said in a statement that “prison staff are investigating an incident between two prisoners on Wednesday”.

After being told he will die in prison, an underworld source said of Fellows: "He'll be watching his back for life.

"He killed the head of a Manchester gang who had a lot of friends.

"These sort of people have long memories and are willing to wait. Sooner or later he'll be vulnerable, and that's when they will pounce."

His accomplice Steven Boyle, 36, was given a minimum of 33 years for murdering Kinsella with Fellows, and is also believed to be on the "hit list".
