TREVOR McDonald has revealed harrowing new details of Rose West's role in the kidnap, rape, and murder of nearly a dozen young girls.
The legendary TV presenter, 79, is set to share "extraordinarily horrible" details of the killings in a grisly documentary this evening.
Fred & Rose West: The Real Story with Trevor McDonald is set to air at 9pm tonight - two weeks after it was dramatically pulled for "legal reasons".
He said: "Fred and Rosemary were cruising the streets and picking up people to kill them. It’s very difficult to contemplate anything worse than that.
"All crime cases are horrible in some particular way but there are so many ways in this that exceeded in its criminality.
"To go through, in detail, what these victims went through at the hands of Fred and Rosemary West is unbelievable and horrible to recount.
Rose West was not a bystander, she was deeply involved. That was the astonishing part of the story

"Rose West was not a bystander, she was deeply involved. That was the astonishing part of the story."
The documentary explores new evidence about twisted Rose West's roles in the murders, which stunned the nation when they were revealed 25 years ago.
TV bosses initially planned to broadcast the documentary at 9pm on February 1, but it was replaced by a different Sir Trevor McDonald show.
The documentary features exclusive interviews and insights into one of most chilling murder cases in British criminal history.
Sir Trevor added: "When they cruised around to pick up people, she was the one who probably convinced the girls to get in the car.
"If a man cruised around then the girls may think twice but her presence in the car was the incentive to these girls that maybe it’s ok.
"What viewers can expect is a great deal of information about how these extraordinarily horrible things came to pass. This is not an everyday story, you don’t encounter this very often.
"In every way you turn to look at this case, there is something ghastly and unexpected and totally inexplicable.
"I’ve come away from doing this without any kind of intimation at all about how this was possible.
"It defies belief, it defies explanation and it defies any understanding.
"There is no conclusion, you just walk away stunned about what you learn.”
Sir Trevor will also interview devastated relatives of some of the couple's victims - including two of Juanita Mott's sisters.
Juanita vanished in 1975 and was one of the sets of remains pulled from under the floorboards at 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester where the sick couple killed at least nine of their victims.
Sasha Wass QC, who defended Rose at her trial in 1995, will also give her first ever interview about the case, while Sir Trevor will examine the House of Horrors where the victims were tortured and killed.
