A NEW drug could halt the muddled thinking and temporary forgetfulness of “senior moments”.
Scientists hope the daily pill will clear “brain fog”, and roll back mental aging by decades.
The newly-patented drug boosts receptors in the brain helping it save information more easily.
This would help the elderly remember their grandkids’ names or where they put keys.
Tests on old mice helped their shrunken brain cells return to their youthful size, allowing them to navigate a maze.
Human trials are due to begin within two years.

Experts will also test if the drug can combat depression and possibly delay Alzheimer’s.
University of Toronto’s Dr Etienne Sibille said: “Anybody over 55 at risk of cognitive problems in later life may benefit from this treatment.”
The findings were presented at a conference of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
