Michael Jackson’s family to fight against child abuse accusers with their own documentary

Jacko's nephew Taj, 45, is preparing 'rebuttal films' over the 'vicious and calculated lies' of Wade Robson, 36 and James Safechuck, 40

THE furious Jackson family are to fight back against the King of Pop’s sex abuse accusers by making their own documentary.

Michael’s nephew Taj is preparing a “series of rebuttal films” to shoot down the “vicious and calculated lies” of Wade Robson and James Safechuck.

Both Safechuck, now 40, and Robson, 36, claim they were repeatedly abused as children by Jackson, in sensational new documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’.

But ex-boy band singer Taj – the son of MJ’s brother Tito - is planning to call on celebrity names and former child companions of the superstar, including Macauley Culkin, to defend him.

A friend of the family told The Sun: “The Jacksons are not taking this lying down and are working on a fight back video.

“Taj and his brothers knew Wade and James and spent time with them. They see their documentary as a complete betrayal and an elaborate plan for fame and attention.

“For so many years both those men said they loved Michael and denied all molestation.”

The Jackson estate described coverage of Brit director Dan Reed’s Leaving Neverland doc as a “public lynching” after it debuted at the Sundance Film Festival last week.

It contained graphic allegations of abuse by Jackson against Safechuck and Robson, shocking film critics who went along to the four-hour screening.

But Taj, 45, is insisting that MJ “died an innocent, vindicated man” and promising that his film will “conclusively destroy decades of salacious myths” about the star.

He launched a blistering defence of his uncle on a GoFundMe account, which he set up to crowdfund money for the film project.

Taj wrote: “Almost everything the public thinks it knows about Michael Jackson is wrong.

“Join me on this crusade to bring justice, once and for all"

“Once again, we have to defend Michael Jackson's name and legacy from vicious and calculated lies. This is on us – fans, friends and family.

“Join me on my journey to unmask the truth about Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson died an innocent, vindicated man. The world needs to understand this most important and basic fact.

“The world also needs to understand the damage that is done to legitimate victims of abuse when self-confessed liars are not only allowed to profit from false allegations, but are given a platform to pontificate their fraudulent claims.

“In an effort to settle this injustice…I’m creating a documentary series that explodes the myths once and for all.”

“The purpose of this project is to present a factual delivery of events from people that lived it and knew it - including me.”

The page has so far raised more than £28,000 and has a £590,000 target.

Taj, who lived with MJ during the 2005 criminal trial, said his uncle's last words to him were: “After this, we’re doing films”.

He added: “Never did I think that a decade later necessity would require me to direct a film about his proven innocence.

“Join me on this crusade to bring justice, once and for all, to the legacy of Michael Jackson."

In 2003 The Jackson family fired back at the release of Martin Bashir's Living with Michael Jackson with their own production.

They released ‘Take Two: The Footage You Were Never Meant to See’, featuring footage with Bashir, which aired on US network Fox.
