Here's what you need to know about the potential ban...
Are mobile phones going to be banned in schools?
There are no official government plans in place yet to ban phones wholesale from schools.
Any school has the authority to ban phones on their premises.
Government policy currently is that it's up to the headmaster to decide.
But the National Association of Head Teachers has said banning pupils from taking a mobile phone to school can be counterproductive.

What has Minister Nick Gibb said about the potential ban?
As the minister for school standards in England, Gibb has come out strongly against students having their cellphones on them in class.
It was reported that Gibb took the stance as a means of teaching teens to limit their time online.
He said: "While this is clearly a matter for the head teacher, my own view is that schools should ban their pupils from bringing smartphones into school or the classroom."
Students were also too regularly staying up late at night to use their mobile phones.
Whether or not Gibb's words will made their way into policy, however, is unclear.
