Parents fear children will still ‘be able to access porn’ despite age verification restrictions

PARENTS believe children will find a way around upcoming age-verification checks on porn sites, a survey says.
Almost one in five — 18 per cent — expect kids to beat the restrictions.
But 83 per cent of the 2,044 responses from parents welcomed the age block and 69 per cent indicated they think it will make a difference.
The age checks are expected to come into force later this year.
The British Board of Film Classification, which rates movies in the UK, will regulate the rules.
Margot James MP, Minister for Digital said: "Adult content is currently too easy to access online, so introducing age verification is a world-leading step forward to give parents greater peace of mind and ensure commercial pornographic websites act responsibly"

The Minister added: "We will shortly publish a White Paper setting out further measures to help make the UK the safest place in the world to be online."
