'WE CAN'T SOLVE THIS ALONE'

Cops beg for public’s help to find killers who mowed down and knifed schoolboy, 14, to death in Lawless London

Jaden Moodie was just 14-years-old when he was mowed down by a black Mercedes and set upon by three men

COPS will today return to the scene of the crime where a 14-year-old was mowed down and knifed to death on the streets of Lawless London.

Jaden Moodie, 14, was brutally killed in what police have called a "targeted attack" that saw his moped rammed off the road by a black Mercedes and the teen fatally stabbed by three men.

It comes after a gang reportedly beat a teenage boy with metal poles before stabbing him on his way to school in Lewisham yesterday.

The boy was wearing his school uniform when he was set upon, and was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

London has been gripped by a bloodbath with stabbings in the capital last year rising 16 per cent - reaching their highest level in six years.

And homicide detectives today confirmed they had "a number of enquiries" to pursue over Jaden's death last week, but also appealed for the public's assistance over the Waltham Forest probe.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Soole, from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, who's leading the investigation, said: "We have a number of enquiries that we are pursuing, however, we cannot solve this alone, we need the public to help us.

"Due to the location and time of the attack we know there are a number of people out there who either witnessed the incident or who have information about this heinous crime and we would like to hear from them.

"I firmly believe that someone out there knows the people who are responsible for Jaden’s murder."

Police will today return to Bickley Road to speak with locals as they continue the murder probe.

A FAMILY'S GRIEF

It comes after the aspiring boxer's dad revealed he had pleaded with the teen to "stay out of trouble" after he moved to London six months ago.

Julian told : "Pictures came through on my phone and then I passed out. I couldn’t believe it.

"My ex-wife, Jada, called me and said she was cooking Jaden’s dinner when someone called her. She ran out to the street and saw him on the ground'."

His dad is certain his son’s death was a result of mistaken identity, adding Jaden was “not violent” and a “loving person”.

On his Facebook page Jaden describes himself as a “trapper kid”, urban slang for drug dealer, while in one picture he appears making the sign of a handgun and in another he clutches a fistful of bank notes.

But his family said the teenager had no links with gangs.

The teen's friends revealed the teen had been excluded from school in the weeks before he was killed.

One pal told : "He was excluded from school a few months ago. It was not for stuff done at school, he was bright and good at school, he was in the top sets for almost everything but it was social media things which got him in trouble."

Police have now said they are supporting Jaden's family.

Det Chief Insp Soole added: "This is a truly heartbreaking time for them and we are doing everything we can to find out who was responsible for Jaden's death."

No arrests have been made at this stage in the investigation. Enquiries continue.
