Boris Johnson, 54, wants to marry ex-Tory spin doctor Carrie Symonds, 30, at the heart of his divorce with Marina
BORIS Johnson is besotted with the woman he wants to be his third wife — with pals saying he’s like a puppy dog around her.
Spin doctor Carrie Symonds, 30, is said to have moved in with ex-Foreign Secretary BoJo.
And sources say the dad-of-four, 54, has fallen head over heels for her on romantic breaks.
A friend said: “He wants to get engaged. He’s completely in thrall to Carrie. Totally loved-up.
“It’s sweet to see. He’s like a puppy dog around her and very solicitous but desperate to avoid messing it up.”
Tory MP Boris aims to propose once the ink dries on his divorce. He left second wife Marina, 54, last year after 25 years.
Carrie, an adviser to financial firm Bloomberg, has yet to meet Boris’ children. His eldest Lara is just five years younger than her.
Another Bojo ally added: “Carrie has been the perfect girlfriend.
“Bear in mind too that his father Stanley remarried within a year.
“Boris is no good when he’s on his own. He needs to go home to someone every night.
“He loves that sort of domesticity. Otherwise he gets down in the dumps and miserable. He and Marina split in March so it shouldn’t be a surprise that this relationship is serious by now.
“Good luck to him. Carrie seems to make him very happy. They’ve been trying to keep it discreet. Nobody wants to see Marina humiliated by public displays.”
Yesterday the Central Family Court said the Johnsons had yet to lodge formal divorce proceedings.
Boris secretly whisked Carrie to Washington DC where he gave a speech at the end of last year.
The couple spent New Year on Greece’s Pelion peninsula. Expat Chris Wicks, 62, chatted to them at the Aphrodite taverna in Lafkos on January 3. Chris said: “He was dishevelled. She was smartly dressed and sweet.”
Remainer Chris says the couple were enjoying a fireside dinner of roast pork in red wine when he approached to talk about Brexit.
BoJo calmly told him: “It’s going to be alright, you know.”
In September The Sun told how Boris and Marina were living apart after she accused him of cheating.
At the time, journalist Lara, 25, is understood to have exploded with rage, telling pals her dad was “a selfish b*****d”, adding “Mum will never take him back now.”
Marina first threw him out over his 2004 affair with writer Petronella Wyatt. In 2010 he was suspected of fathering a lovechild with art consultant Helen Macintyre.
Rumours of a split from Marina swirled after she failed to attend a party for second daughter Cassia Peaches, 21. The couple also have sons Milo Arthur, 23, and Theodore Apollo, 19.
During his affair with Ms Wyatt, it emerged Marina had become pregnant while Boris was legally married to first wife, Allegra Mostyn-Owen. Allegra later said: “I divorced him for adultery. It enabled him to marry Marina.”
Their divorce was finalised on April 26, 1993. Boris and Marina married days later on May 8. Lara was born on June 12.
