British tourist dies after falling 30ft from ski lift ‘while having a heart attack’

A BRITISH tourist has died after falling from a ski lift in the French Alps.
The horror incident happened around noon today on the Roc de Tougne chairlift in Meribel in Savoie.
The man is believed to have plunged 30ft after falling from the ski lift while having a heart attack.

However resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are working to determine if the man became ill before or after the plunge.
The prosecutor of Albertville has opened an investigation into the incident.
It's reported the man was accompanied by a female friend who is said to be assisting investigators.

An FCO Spokeswoman told The Sun Online: “We are in contact with the French authorities following the death of a British man in Meribel and are supporting his family at this difficult time”.
