How to turn on WhatsApp dark mode update during chats
Here is everything know about the new dark mode update for WhatsApp
WHATSAPP is about to get an aesthetic upgrade that will change the messaging interface for its 1.5 billion users.
The free messaging app is the latest platform set to offer so-called dark mode, which developers hope will reduce the strain on your eyes after lots of screen time.
Most websites, apps and social media platforms present their content with black text on a white background.
But the format is believed to be bad for your eyes and can become unpleasant after prolonged browsing and messaging.
Dark mode offers a simple solution to the problem by inverting the colours to create a darker theme.
WhatsApp reportedly started working on a dark mode in September last year.
Reputable tech outlet WABetInfo, renowned for meticulously analysing beta and alpha versions of software, tweeted at the time: "WhatsApp is finally working on a Dark Mode! It’s a dream.
"There are many important secret references in recent updates!
"Be patient to see it out, hoping it will be FULL OLED friendly for Android phones, iPhone X and newer!"
The outlet has since posted images of what the dark mode could look like.
No official release date has been set for the update and WhatsApp has not commented on the existence of the feature.
