THIS is the Terrifying moment a Moscow bridge collapses, leaving 13 New Year's revellers injured moments into 2019.

The shocking video shows the packed bridge in Gorky Park collapsing under the weight of the crowd.

Five of the 13 suffered moderate injuries, while the rest escaped with only minor injuries.

In the footage bridge sags in the middle a moment before the thing snaps in two, sending dozens falling a storey.

The screaming crowd land on an ice rink, while some lucky quick thinkers manage to hold onto the bannister on one side, which miraculously stays up.

The Moscow city government said the collapse was caused by “a technical fault in the skating rink's structural elements”.

Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin immediately fired park director Marina Lyulchuk over the accident.

Sobyanin promised each person injured half a million roubles - roughly £5,600 - in compensation.

According to a video posted on social media, the spectators were listening to the Russian national anthem when the bridge caved in.
