Scottish Borders crash – one dead and 23 injured after minibus overturns in horror smash
The horror smash took place on the A6089 this morning
ONE person was killed and 23 others hurt when a minibus overturned in the Scottish Borders today.
Emergency services raced to the scene after reports of the vehicle smash on the A6089 between Carfraemill and Gordon.

The horror crash happened just before 11am this morning.
Footage shows highway authorities removing the overturned vehicle after nightfall, and the Scottish Borders Police announced shortly before 10pm that the road had been reopened.
Authorities confirmed one man was killed in the incident but have not yet released details of his identity.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We received a call to attend a road traffic accident involving a single vehicle minibus this morning on the A6089 near Gordon.
"Due to the number of passengers requiring assistance, we dispatched a large number of resources to the scene including our air ambulance, trauma and Special Operations Response Teams (SORT).

"Sadly, there was one male fatality and our thoughts go out to his family for their tragic loss.
"23 other patients were treated by our crews and transported to Borders General Hospital, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow for further treatment and care.”
Information on the condition of the 23 people injured in the smash was not made immediately available by emergency services.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers are currently in attendance between Carfraemill and Gordon following a report that a minibus overturned at 10.50am.
"Closures are in place in both directions and emergency services are on the scene.
"More information will be provided when available."
