Snoop the dog who was abandoned days before Christmas in heartbreaking video has had ‘thousands’ of offers of a new home

The RSPCA is now searching for the callous owner who abandoned the Staffordshire Bull Terrier in Stoke-on-Trent

A POOR puppy abandoned by his owner just days before Christmas has been inundated with “thousands” of offers of a new home.

Dog-lovers all over the country wanted to welcome Snoop the Staffordshire Bull Terrier into their home after the RSPCA released heartbreaking CCTV footage of him being dumped in the street.

The charity has since launched an investigation to find the unknown owner, who ditched the staffie in Stoke-on-Trent.

Millions of people watched awful footage of the owner getting out of a parked silver car with Snoop and a dog bed.

The puppy excitedly runs across the road wagging his tail before the owner drops the dog bed on the pavement and unclips Snoop from his lead.

Shockingly, the cruel man then runs back to his car and drives off as the confused dog jumps up at the car windows.

Snoop was found an hour later and taken to vets, where the RSPCA was contacted.

Veterinarian staff gave him the name ‘Snoop’ and looked after him after he was discovered sitting in his bed by the road.

And he’s now appeared on Good Morning Britain today along with RSPCA inspector Natalie Perehovsky.

Speaking about the callous man who dumped Snoop, Natalie said: “This is heartbreaking, it’s the way he runs after the owner — he clearly loved who was there.

“He was obviously distressed.

“I don’t know what was going through their mind when they did that.

“It could be the expense, it could be family changes, there’s hundreds of reasons.

“But there’s places that help people, you can take him to charities or dog homes.

“There’s no excuse.”

Natalie said lots of people have contacted them to rehome Snoop, but he’s currently being cared for in kennels.

She added: “He’s not for rehoming yet but as soon as he is we will let you know.

“For now, we want to know where he’s come from, any bit of information to try and piece together how he got where he was.

“His microchip details are not up to date so we know he’s had another home since then.”
