Christmas 2018 at Sandringham – who else is going with Meghan, Kate, Wills and Harry?
Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry usually attend Christmas at Sandringham, the Queen’s 20,000-acre country estate in Norfolk.
THE Royal Family traditionally spends Christmas together at Sandringham.
Here’s what we know about who is attending for the festive fun this year.
Who is going to Sandringham for Christmas?
Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry usually attend Christmas at Sandringham, the Queen’s 20,000-acre country estate in Norfolk.
Meghan Markle spent her first Christmas with the firm there last year, stepping out with Harry, William and Kate for a service at St Mary Magdalene church.
The so-called ’fab four’ looked happy and relaxed as were pictured together, a few months before Harry and Meghan tied the knot in May at Windsor.
Former Royal Household butler, Grant Harrold, said he expects both Kate and Meghan to be at Sandringham this year.
This year also saw Sarah Ferguson publicly welcomed back into the Royal fold.
Prince Andrew’s ex-wife appeared to revel in a return to the limelight at her daughter Princess Eugenie’s wedding, also at Windsor Castle, in October.
Mr Harrold says the Duchess of York has a “wonderful relationship” with the Royal Family, despite her well-documented feud with Prince Philip, so could be there.
Traditionally, although she remains close to her ex-husband Andrew and two children, Fergie does not spend Christmas with the rest of the royals in Sandringham.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Fergie revealed how she really feels about spending Christmas apart from daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie every year.
She explained she often turns the television on to see her daughters on Christmas Day, saying: "I will watch Ben-Hur and really enjoy it, then watch the news and see how the girls are doing."
"I know that Her Majesty adores my children, so I am happy to share them — both in August and at Christmas," she added.
Camilla Parker Bowles, who also now spends Christmas at Sandringham, could be a support for Meghan having previously spoken warmly of her engagement to Harry.
Although Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland is thought to have been invited to spend Christmas at Sandringham, the former social worker turned yoga teacher is understood to be celebrating in Los Angeles, in anticipation of travelling to London in the spring for the arrival of her first grandchild.
Zara and Mike Tindall have managed to wangle their way out of Christmas at Sandringham in recent years, to spend the Holidays in Australia.
The couple are once again due to attend the Magic Millions race series on the Gold Coast in January, so a question mark remains over whether they’ll be at Sandringham.
Where is Sandringham?
Sandringham House is a country house in the parish of Sandringham, Norfolk, England and is a private home of the Queen.
Set in 8,000 hectares, Sandringham House first came under royal ownership in 1862 as a country residence for the future King Edward VII.
Royal Christmases used to be celebrated at Windsor Castle until 1988, when the castle was rewired and the festivities returned to Sandringham.
