SPEAKER John Bercow incensed MPs – by approving a marathon debate before sneaking off to the FOOTBALL.

The Commons figure – famed for his yell of “Order! Order!” - agreed to afford Labour a three hour emergency debate that threatened to keep the House sitting until beyond 11pm.

But sources said he had told the clerks he’d have to be out at 7pm – so he could see his beloved Arsenal take on Spurs in the Carabao Cup.

A spokeswoman declined to comment on Wednesday night.

But by kick-off his place in the Speaker’s chair had been taken by Eleanor Laing.

An insider said: “It’s a bit rich. He’s keeping MPs in till all-hours just one day before the Christmas break, but he’s off.
