AN alcoholic Russian maniac tied up his mum and burnt down her flat while she was still inside after a row on Mother's Day.
Russian police are hunting Vladimir Skakalin, who lived with his mother in her fourth-floor flat before he set it alight and sat down to watch the flames.
The shocking incident occurred int he city of Volgograd in south-western Russia on the country's Mother's Day on 25th November.
Skakalin, who is said to have alcohol problems, reportedly argued with his mother before tying her up lighting a fire.
His mother only managed to escape from the flat while her son was distracted by the blaze. Neighbour called the emergency services.
She was hospitalised with with multiple burns and their neighbours, surnamed Korzhov, were also taken to hospital for carbon monoxide poisoning caused by the fire.
The Korzhovs' condition is not believed to be life-threatening while the condition of Skakalin’s mother has not been reported.
The suspect has not be seen since the incident and local media report he has previously suffered from mental breakdown and spent time receiving treatment in mental health facilities.

He is believed to have threatened a female neighbour with a knife the day before the fire but his mother is said to have convinced the woman not to file an official complaint.
Police are searching for Skakalin who is reportedly obsessed with his amateur singing career and often posts videos of himself performing on social media.
